Key Responsibilities
• Provide senior nursing leadership and operational management during out-of-hours periods
• Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient care
• Act as the senior clinical decision-maker for nursing and midwifery services when required
• Support clinical teams in managing complex operational and patient flow challenges
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, governance, and patient safety standards
• Liaise with senior management, clinical leads, and on-call teams
• Manage escalation procedures and risk management processes
• Promote best practice in nursing leadership and professional standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Nurse or Midwife on the NMBI Register
• Significant post-registration experience, including senior nursing management
• Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills in acute hospital settings
• Proven ability to manage operational pressures and complex clinical situations
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
• Experience in governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

Salary:
In line with the HSE Assistant Director of Nursing (Band 1 Hospitals) – Grade 2910 payscale:
• €71,408 – €88,123 per annum (pro-rata for part-time appointments), depending on experience
