An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Grade VII Data Informatics and Training Specialist with the National Diabetes Registry, part of the HSE’s Public Health function within the Office of the Chief Clinical Officer. This specialist post plays a key role in supporting national diabetes data systems, analytics, and training, contributing directly to improved population health intelligence and service planning across Ireland.

This campaign is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants, with flexibility around blended working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and support data informatics activities for the National Diabetes Registry
• Develop, manage, and analyse complex healthcare datasets to support national reporting
• Design and deliver training programmes for clinical and administrative users of registry systems
• Support data quality, governance, and compliance with information governance standards
• Collaborate with clinicians, analysts, and national stakeholders on data-driven initiatives
• Contribute to system development, documentation, and continuous improvement projects
• Provide expert advice on data usage, interpretation, and reporting outputs
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Relevant third-level qualification in data science, health informatics, statistics, IT, or a related discipline
• Significant experience working with data systems, databases, or analytics in a complex organisation
• Proven ability to deliver training and user support for technical systems
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience in healthcare, public health, or registry-based systems is highly desirable
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE Grade VII (0582) consolidated payscale (effective August 2025)
