The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking experienced professionals for the role of Grade VIII Cyber Risk Management – Business Information Security Officer (BISO). This permanent, whole-time position will be based in HSE Dublin and Midlands and HSE Dublin and South-East Regions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing cybersecurity risks and supporting compliance across Ireland’s healthcare network.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead cyber risk management and information security initiatives across HSE divisions.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate information security risks in healthcare environments.
- Oversee compliance with cybersecurity regulations, standards, and governance frameworks.
- Collaborate with IT, clinical, and administrative teams to develop and implement risk control measures.
- Provide expert guidance on security policy, strategy, and incident response.
- Promote continuous learning to maintain readiness against evolving cyber threats.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Significant experience in healthcare, public sector, pharmaceutical, or biomedical settings.
- Proven operational experience in risk management, cybersecurity, compliance, or IT governance.
- Strong understanding of data protection laws and security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIS2).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Grade: Grade VIII (Code 0655)
- Salary Scale: In line with HSE Consolidated Pay Scales effective 1 August 2025, per Department of Health Circular 6/2025.
- Contract Type: Permanent, whole-time.
