The Health Service Executive (HSE) is recruiting a Nursing Practice Development Coordinator for Older Person Services across Sligo, Leitrim and West Cavan. This is a key leadership role focused on improving clinical standards, education, and quality initiatives. One specified-purpose whole-time post is currently available, with a panel created for future vacancies.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and support evidence-based nursing practice across Older Person Services.
• Develop, implement and evaluate practice development programmes.
• Support clinical governance, quality improvement and service development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care pathways.
• Provide guidance, education and mentorship to nursing staff.
• Contribute to policy development, audits and service reviews.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Nurse or Midwife with active NMBI registration.
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in:
– Clinical practice management
– Practice development
– Education
– Quality improvement
• Strong leadership, communication and change-management skills.
• Ability to work across multiple service sites.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and service excellence.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Grade: Nursing/Midwifery Practice Development Coordinator (Code 2445)
Salary scale (from 1 August 2025): €71,408 – €88,123 annually
