Sligo University Hospital is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join the Ophthalmology service within the Health Service Executive (HSE). Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality, patient-centred ophthalmic nursing care
• Assist in assessment, diagnostics, and treatment planning
• Support consultants and multidisciplinary teams in clinical procedures
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and care records
• Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Participate in mandatory training and continuous professional development
• Adhere to all HSE policies, protocols, and clinical standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered General Nurse with NMBI (active registration)
• Experience in Ophthalmology desirable but not essential
• Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to high standards of patient care
• Ability to work effectively in a busy hospital environment
