About the Role
As a Personal Assistant for Student Support, you’ll deliver tailored assistance to individuals with additional needs, helping them reach their learning and personal development goals. This role blends care, education, and inclusion, ensuring every student has the support they need to thrive.
- Contract: Fixed-term, 6 months
- Hours: Part-time, 32 hours per week
- Location: NLN Sligo – Kempton Promenade, Bridge St, Sligo
- Salary: From €13.74 per hour (pro-rata, based on experience and qualifications)
- Closing Date: 19 October 2025
Key Responsibilities
- Support students in achieving personal and academic goals under instructor supervision.
- Assist with daily participation and engagement in the training environment.
- Help students develop independence, organisation, and social skills.
- Provide personal care and ensure dignity and respect at all times.
- Support attendance, transport, and transitions between activities.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety standards, safeguarding procedures, and reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- QQI Level 5 in Health Care or Social Care (or equivalent).
- Experience supporting adults with disabilities or additional needs.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
- Flexible, empathetic, and team-oriented.
Preferred
- QQI Level 6 in Special Needs Assisting or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in education or rehabilitation environments.
