Mayo University Hospital, part of the HSE West and North West region, is inviting applications for the Staff Grade Radiographer (Radiographer 3093) as part of a rolling recruitment campaign (Ref: 92MUH2025). This permanent, whole-time role offers an opportunity to join a leading diagnostic imaging department that provides high-quality patient care across a range of clinical specialties.
About the Role
As a Staff Grade Radiographer, you’ll play a vital role in delivering comprehensive diagnostic imaging services within a modern hospital environment. The role involves working across general radiography, CT, and other modalities, supporting clinical teams to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic outcomes for patients in County Mayo and the wider HSE West region.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a broad range of diagnostic radiography procedures in line with HSE and CORU standards.
- Operate advanced imaging equipment safely and effectively.
- Support multidisciplinary teams in patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and imaging records.
- Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols and HSE quality standards.
- Participate in continuous professional development and departmental training initiatives.
- Contribute to audit, quality improvement, and service development projects.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Diagnostic Radiography.
- CORU registration (or eligibility for same).
- Demonstrated experience in general radiography within an acute hospital setting.
- Strong technical knowledge and patient-focused communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience in CT, MRI, or specialist imaging modalities.
- Familiarity with PACS/RIS systems and digital imaging workflows.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in diagnostic imaging.
What We Offer
- Salary: In accordance with the HSE Consolidated Pay Scales (1 August 2025) – Radiographer Staff Grade (Grade Code: 3093), starting at approximately €40,000–€61,000 per annum, depending on experience and incremental progression.
