The Health Service Executive (HSE) South West is inviting applications for a Regional Director of Nursing and Midwifery (Confined Competition) based at Caha House, Model Farm Road, Cork. This senior leadership post oversees strategic nursing and midwifery direction across the region. This is a Permanent Wholetime position.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead nursing and midwifery governance across the HSE South West region
• Shape strategic service delivery and workforce planning
• Ensure excellence in patient care, safety, and regulatory compliance
• Guide regional implementation of national policies and clinical standards
• Support hospital and community services through expert professional leadership
• Collaborate with senior management, clinical leaders, and national nursing directorates
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Must be a permanently appointed Director of Nursing and Midwifery (Grade 2915) within the HSE (Confined Competition requirement)
• Extensive senior leadership experience in nursing/midwifery
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning and service governance
• Strong knowledge of national health policy, quality standards, and regulatory frameworks
• Excellent communication, change-management, and stakeholder-engagement skills
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale (Director of Nursing & Midwifery – Hospital Group, Grade 2915):
• €122,969 – €150,292 (as of 1 August 2025)
Contract: Permanent Wholetime
