The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (RANP) Stroke or Candidate ANP (cANP) Stroke for a permanent, wholetime post in Cavan. This senior clinical role offers the opportunity to lead stroke care pathways, drive innovation, and improve patient outcomes within the HSE Dublin and North East region. This Advanced Nurse Practitioner Stroke Cavan position is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver expert, autonomous nursing care to stroke patients across the full continuum of care
• Lead advanced assessment, diagnosis, planning, and evaluation of patient care
• Develop and support stroke clinical pathways and evidence-based practice
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient flow and outcomes
• Participate in service development, audit, research, and quality improvement
• Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and education to nursing colleagues
• Act as an expert resource in stroke management for the wider service
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered General Nurse with NMBI
• Completed or working towards Master’s level education in line with ANP standards
• Evidence of completion of required ANP competencies and portfolio (for RANP)
• Demonstrated experience in stroke, acute medicine, or related specialty
• Strong clinical decision-making and advanced assessment skills
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and service improvement

Grade: Advanced Nurse Practitioner (General) – Grade Code 2267
• RANP Salary Scale (1 Aug 2025): €71,408–€88,123
• Candidate ANP Salary Scale (1 Aug 2025, Grade Code 2272): €70,725–€79,872
