University Hospital Limerick (UHL) is recruiting a Registrar in Haematology for a fixed-term, whole-time contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-volume tertiary centre within the Health Service Executive (HSE) Mid West region, working across a broad spectrum of haematological conditions and acute care services.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality clinical care to haematology inpatients and outpatients
• Participate in diagnostic workups, treatment planning, and multidisciplinary meetings
• Contribute to laboratory liaison and blood product management
• Support junior medical staff and medical students in daily clinical activities
• Participate in the on-call roster as required
• Ensure accurate clinical documentation and adherence to HSE clinical governance standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Full registration (or eligibility) with the Irish Medical Council
• At least two years’ relevant post-graduate experience
• Strong clinical exposure to haematology, oncology, or related specialties
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively within a busy acute hospital environment
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary (HSE Registrar Scale 1538, effective 1 Aug 2025): €68,891–€81,126
• Full-time, fixed-term contract
