Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda and Louth County Hospital are seeking a committed Senior House Officer (SHO) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to join their busy maternity services under the Health Service Executive (HSE). This fixed-term, whole-time post offers excellent clinical exposure across two key acute hospital sites in the Dublin and North East region. The role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality clinical care across Obstetrics and Gynaecology services
• Participate in labour ward, antenatal, postnatal, and gynaecology rotations
• Support senior clinicians in emergency, elective, and outpatient settings
• Contribute to multidisciplinary ward rounds and decision-making
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
• Engage in protected teaching, simulation training, and clinical audits
• Participate in the on-call rota across both Drogheda and Louth County Hospital
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Medical degree and eligibility for registration with the Irish Medical Council
• Previous experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology desirable but not essential
• Strong clinical judgement and ability to work in a fast-paced acute setting
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to ongoing learning and career development
• Ability to participate in a full-shift/on-call rota
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
HSE Senior House Officer Salary Scale (1 August 2025):
€54,203 – €74,133 per annum (7 points)
Contract: Fixed-term, whole-time
