Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore is seeking a Senior Physiotherapist (ICU/CCU & Acute Medical Wards) to join its expanding multidisciplinary team. This permanent wholetime post offers the opportunity to deliver advanced respiratory and critical-care physiotherapy within a busy HSE acute hospital setting. Key Responsibilities
• Deliver specialised physiotherapy interventions for ICU/CCU and acute medical patients
• Manage complex respiratory caseloads, including chronic respiratory disease
• Set up and manage NIV and AIRVO systems safely and effectively
• Contribute to early mobilisation, complex discharge planning and MDT reviews
• Support clinical governance, patient safety and evidence-based practice
• Supervise junior staff and students as required within the physiotherapy service
Required Skills & Qualifications
• CORU registration as a Physiotherapist
• Proven depth and breadth of ICU and critical-care experience
• Demonstrated experience in respiratory physiotherapy within an acute hospital
• Competence in managing patients on NIV and AIRVO
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Grade: Physiotherapist – Senior (Code 3158)
Salary Scale (1 August 2025): €63,912–€75,254 across 9 points
Contract Type: Permanent, Wholetime
