The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Senior Radiographer to join the Radiology Department at Mayo University Hospital. This specified purpose wholetime role offers an opportunity to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services within a busy acute hospital environment. Reporting to the Radiography Service Manager, the postholder will support service delivery across a range of imaging modalities.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform high-quality radiographic imaging in line with departmental protocols.
• Ensure accurate patient identification, safety, and comfort throughout all procedures.
• Provide clinical leadership and guidance to junior radiographers and students.
• Demonstrate advanced competence in radiographic techniques relevant to the role.
• Perform IV cannulation as required and assist with contrast-enhanced examinations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to statutory and HSE policies.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement and audit activities.
• Liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient pathways.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• CORU registration as a Radiographer.
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in diagnostic radiography.
• Proven experience in IV cannulation.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and make effective clinical decisions.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous professional development.

• Salary: As per HSE national pay scales applicable from 1 August 2025
