The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland, working in partnership with the HSE Mid West, is recruiting a Social Care Worker based in Shannon, County Clare. This permanent, whole-time post offers an opportunity to make a real difference supporting people with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling lives in a community-based setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide person-centred care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Promote independence, choice, and inclusion in daily living.
• Support individuals in personal care, health, leisure, education, and employment activities.
• Work collaboratively with families, multidisciplinary teams, and other professionals.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews.
• Implement safeguarding, health, and safety policies in line with service standards.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and supervision.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• A recognised qualification in Social Care or a related discipline (minimum Level 7).
• Registration with CORU (or eligibility for registration).
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities or in a similar care environment.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of HIQA standards, safeguarding policies, and positive behaviour support.
• Full clean driving licence is desirable.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: Social Care Worker (Grade Code 3029) per HSE Consolidated Pay Scales effective 1 August 2025 – €38,135 to €54,975 per annum, depending on experience.
• Contract: Permanent, wholetime.
• Hours: 39 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as rostered.
