The Muiriosa Foundation is seeking dedicated and compassionate Social Care Workers to join our Residential Disability Services in Westmeath. About the Role
As a Social Care Worker (Grade 3029), you’ll play a key role in supporting adults with intellectual disabilities across our residential services. You’ll work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and promote independence, choice, and inclusion in everyday life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and personal care to individuals in residential settings.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans promoting independence.
- Facilitate community participation and social inclusion initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with HIQA standards.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals.
- Participate in shift work including days, weekends, waking nights, and sleepovers.
- Uphold safeguarding practices and ensure the wellbeing of all residents.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Level 7 NFQ qualification in Social Care or Applied Social Studies in Social Care.
- CORU registration (or evidence of having commenced the registration process).
- Flexibility to work across a variety of locations and shifts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Familiarity with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches.
- Full, clean driving licence desirable.

- Competitive salary in line with HSE Consolidated Pay Scales (1 August 2025) – Social Care Worker (Grade Code 3029), approximately €38,000 – €54,000 per annum (pro rata).
