The Health Service Executive is recruiting a Staff Midwife to join its Mid West region based in Limerick. This permanent wholetime role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, compassionate maternity care within a busy acute setting. The successful candidate will contribute to antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal services as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide safe, evidence-based midwifery care across all maternity service areas
• Support women throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period
• Carry out clinical assessments and develop person-centred care plans
• Work collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health colleagues
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to HSE policies
• Participate in quality improvement, audits and patient-safety initiatives
• Promote health education and breastfeeding support
• Maintain professional competence and participate in mandatory training
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Midwife with NMBI (or eligible for registration)
• Demonstrated clinical competence in midwifery practice
• Strong communication, teamwork and decision-making skills
• Ability to provide high-quality, woman-centred care
• Commitment to continuous professional development
• Knowledge of HSE standards, guidelines and maternity care protocols
