Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Midwife / Staff Nurse – Colposcopy at University Hospital Kerry, within the HSE South West region. This permanent whole-time role is based in Gynaecology & Women’s Health Services and offers the chance to work in a specialist clinical setting focused on women’s health, screening, and diagnostic care.
This role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants, making it an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals seeking secure public sector employment with strong career progression.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing and midwifery care within the Colposcopy service
• Support assessment, treatment, and follow-up of women attending Colposcopy clinics
• Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, midwives, and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to HSE policies and procedures
• Promote patient dignity, confidentiality, and informed consent at all times
• Participate in audit, quality improvement, and ongoing professional development
• Contribute to a safe, supportive, and patient-centred clinical environment
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration with NMBI as a Midwife and/or General Nurse
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
• Experience in women’s health, gynaecology, or colposcopy (desirable)
• Strong clinical, communication, and organisational skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to continuous professional development and clinical excellence
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE Staff Midwife Grade 2143 consolidated pay scales (August 2025)
