The Health Service Executive is recruiting a Staff Nurse for the Health Protection/Public Health service covering Dublin North, Meath, Cavan, Louth and Monaghan. This permanent wholetime role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on community health outcomes across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care within Health Protection and Public Health settings
• Support surveillance, contact tracing, outbreak control and community health initiatives
• Manage clinical documentation and maintain accurate electronic records
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure safe and coordinated care
• Provide nursing input to public health programmes and community-based interventions
• Participate in weekend, overtime and urgent out-of-hours service when required
• Attend the service outside normal rostered hours where urgent issues arise

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with NMBI
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in Health Protection and/or Public Health
• Proven IT literacy relevant to clinical and public health service delivery
• Ability to work flexibly in a service that may operate seven days per week
• Access to appropriate transport for travel across the region
• Strong communication, organisational and documentation skills

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

• HSE consolidated salary scale applies (Staff Nurse – General, Grade 2135)
• Permanent, wholetime contract
• Weekend, overtime and extended-hours duties may be required based on service need
