The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland are inviting applications for the position of Support Worker based in Shannon, County Clare. This permanent, full-time role offers the opportunity to provide person-centred care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, helping them to live more independently and engage fully in their community.
Key Responsibilities
• Support individuals in daily living activities, community inclusion, and social participation.
• Promote personal development and independence in line with individual support plans.
• Implement care plans and report effectively to senior staff.
• Assist with personal care needs, mobility, and medication administration.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with organisational and regulatory standards.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development.
• Ensure compliance with all safeguarding and health & safety policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support or equivalent qualification.
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities or in a care environment.
• Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
• Understanding of person-centred care and rights-based approaches.
• Full clean driver’s licence is desirable.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Care Assistant (Disability Services) – Code 6482.
• Salary: As per HSE Consolidated Pay Scales (effective 1 August 2025), Patient & Client Care Grade.
• Employment Type: Permanent Wholetime.
