An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Medical Officer to join community and public health services in Letterkenny, County Donegal. Key Responsibilities
• Provide senior-level medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment within community and public health services
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centred clinical care in line with national standards
• Contribute to service planning, quality improvement, and clinical governance
• Supervise and support junior medical staff and multidisciplinary colleagues
• Participate in policy implementation and public health initiatives
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reporting
• Engage in continuous professional development and audit activity
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration on the General Division of the Medical Council of Ireland
• Eligible for appointment to Senior Medical Officer grade
• Significant post-registration clinical experience
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
• Experience working within community, public health, or primary care services
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary Scale (Medical Officer Senior – 183T): €95,845 – €114,646 per annum (LSIs apply)
• Salary in accordance with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025)
• Permanent, wholetime position
