Senior Paediatric Dietitian – HSE Louth

Job Overview

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking an experienced Senior Dietitian – Paediatrics to join the CAWT PEACEPLUS Healthier Futures Project under reference NRS15271. This 30-month specified purpose contract supports the Weight Management Service for Children and Young People as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT).

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering specialist paediatric dietetic services across designated counties, contributing to improved health outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist paediatric dietetic assessment, intervention and management within the CAWT PEACEPLUS Healthier Futures Project.
  • Work as an integral member of the Children and Young People MDT Weight Management Service.
  • Deliver evidence-based nutritional interventions tailored to paediatric populations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals across community and acute settings.
  • Support service development initiatives aligned with national and regional HSE priorities.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and HSE standards.
  • Participate in audit, quality improvement and governance activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualification recognised by CORU for registration as a Dietitian.
  • Current registration with CORU (or eligibility to register).
  • Significant post-qualification experience, including paediatric dietetics.
  • Demonstrated experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, communication and organisational skills.
  • Full driving licence and access to transport (travel required across designated counties).

  • Salary aligned with the HSE Senior Dietitian (Grade 3395) scale under the February 2026 consolidated public sector pay scales.

  • One 1 WTE specified purpose (30 months) whole-time vacancy based in County Louth, with travel to Cavan and Monaghan.
  • One 1 WTE specified purpose (30 months) whole-time vacancy across Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim and West Cavan (base to be determined).
