Mowlam Healthcare is recruiting a Staff Nurse to join the team at Sligo Nursing Home. About the Role
As a Staff Nurse at Sligo Nursing Home, you will play a central role in the day-to-day care of residents, acting as a Named Nurse and taking ownership of care planning, clinical documentation, and medication management. You will build trusted relationships with residents and their families, uphold HIQA standards, and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care that upholds the dignity, privacy, and individuality of each resident.
- Act as Named Nurse, maintaining all relevant care documentation accurately and in line with legislative requirements.
- Build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and visitors, offering support and comfort — particularly during bereavement.
- Ensure all Mowlam Healthcare policies and standards are understood and consistently applied by staff.
- Maintain clear, concise, and accurate records in accordance with internal standards and applicable legislation.
- Safeguard the administration, custody, and control of all medications in accordance with policy.
- Demonstrate knowledge of HIQA standards and actively participate in inspection processes.
- Manage resident admissions in line with procedures, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
- Liaise with relevant healthcare professionals regarding resident discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements
- First level registration as a Registered General Nurse.
- Active registration on the NMBI live register.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Strong clinical decision-making ability.
- Self-motivated with the ability to inspire and support colleagues.
- A collaborative team player who can also work effectively on own initiative.
- Committed to delivering high standards of resident care.

Contract Type
Permanent. Guaranteed hours contracts available on a full-time and part-time basis.
