Job Overview

The Assistant National Director Dublin HSE role offers a unique opportunity to lead and coordinate major capital healthcare infrastructure programmes at national level. Based in the Office of the National Director, Head of Strategic Health Infrastructure and Capital Delivery, this senior leadership position plays a pivotal role in shaping Ireland’s health service infrastructure.

This permanent opportunity is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants. The post holder will contribute strategically to large-scale capital delivery programmes and will undertake significant travel across Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level programme coordination for major capital healthcare projects nationwide
  • Support the National Director in strategic infrastructure planning and delivery
  • Oversee governance, compliance, and reporting frameworks for capital programmes
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders across health service divisions
  • Ensure alignment of capital delivery with national healthcare strategy objectives
  • Monitor programme performance, risk management, and resource allocation
  • Lead engagement with internal and external partners across Ireland

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Extensive senior management experience within complex organisational environments
  • Proven experience in capital programme coordination or infrastructure delivery
  • Strong strategic planning and governance expertise
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience operating at national or large-scale programme level
  • Relevant third-level qualification in management, business, engineering, healthcare leadership, or related discipline
  • Full eligibility to work in Ireland

  • Salary aligned with Assistant National Director (Support) Grade 0508 public sector pay scale

Location & Employer Information

This role is based at Dr. Steevens’ Hospital, Dublin 8, within the Office of the National Director, Head of Strategic Health Infrastructure and Capital Delivery. The National Director is open to engagement regarding expected on-site attendance in line with blended working policy requirements.

As part of this role, significant travel across Ireland will be required. A panel may be formed from this campaign to fill current and future permanent or specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration.
