Job Overview
This is an exceptional opportunity to join Waterford Mental Health Services as a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, playing a critical leadership role within specialist CAMHS services. Key Responsibilities
- Provide consultant-level psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for children and adolescents
- Lead and support multidisciplinary CAMHS teams in delivering high-quality care
- Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and allied health professionals
- Collaborate with community services, schools, and other stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with national clinical guidelines and regulatory standards
- Participate in on-call duties and service planning as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- Extensive experience in child and adolescent mental health services
- Strong leadership and clinical governance experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development and service improvement
- Access to transport is essential
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
This position offers competitive pay in line with HSE consultant salary scales.
