This is a senior Consultant Physician opportunity in Endocrinology and Diabetes Mellitus based at Mayo University Hospital, offering a high-impact role across both hospital and regional services. Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist clinical care in endocrinology and diabetes mellitus
- Lead and support multidisciplinary teams in delivering high-quality patient care
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical services
- Participate in on-call and outpatient services as required
- Support teaching, training, and supervision of junior medical staff
- Engage in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate across regional services within HSE West and North West
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Full registration on the Specialist Division of the Medical Council of Ireland
- Relevant specialist qualification in Endocrinology and General Medicine
- Significant experience in endocrinology and diabetes care
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development and clinical excellence
- Experience in teaching, research, and service development is desirable
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
This role offers competitive pay in line with HSE consultant salary scales. The position is a permanent whole-time contract, with duties split between Mayo University Hospital (18.5 hours per week) and regional responsibilities across the West and North West (18.5 hours per week).
