The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager II to join the Emergency Department team in Cavan. This permanent wholetime role offers an opportunity to lead high-quality patient care within a busy acute setting. The post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants, with a strong emphasis on clinical leadership, governance, and service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the delivery of safe, effective, person-centred nursing care within the Emergency Department.
• Support, supervise, and guide nursing staff, ensuring compliance with clinical standards and best practice.
• Coordinate patient flow, triage processes, and resource allocation to maintain efficient departmental operations.
• Contribute to service planning, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and risk management activities.
• Ensure adherence to HSE policies, protocols, and statutory requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to support integrated and timely care.
• Participate in staff development, performance reviews, and education programmes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered General Nurse with NMBI in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years’ post-registration experience, with significant Emergency Department exposure.
• Demonstrated leadership and people-management capability.
• Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
