The Health Service Executive (HSE) Dublin and North East is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist (Suicide Crisis Assessment, SCAN) to join its Louth Mental Health Services team. This permanent, whole-time role plays a critical part in delivering timely and evidence-based mental health assessments and interventions for individuals in crisis.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver comprehensive suicide crisis assessments and provide immediate interventions.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across mental health and community settings.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment and care plans.
• Maintain detailed clinical documentation and data for audit and service evaluation.
• Provide expert advice, support, and guidance to healthcare colleagues and service users.
• Contribute to staff training, service improvement, and suicide prevention initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) with An Bord Altranais.
• Proven experience in mental health nursing, preferably within crisis intervention or acute care.
• In-depth knowledge of psychiatric clinical presentations and suicide risk management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously and within a team.
• Access to own transport is essential, as the role involves travel across Louth and surrounding areas.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Clinical Nurse Specialist (Mental Health) 2625.
• Salary: €61,463–€77,666 per annum (as per HSE consolidated salary scales, effective 1 August 2025).
• Employment Type: Permanent, Wholetime.
