The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Skills Facilitator (ICU) at Clinical Nurse Manager II (CNMII) grade to join the critical care team at Portiuncula University Hospital, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway. This permanent, whole-time role offers a unique opportunity to support professional development and enhance clinical education within the ICU setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide educational support and mentorship to nursing staff across all critical care specialities.
• Facilitate induction, training, and continuing professional development for ICU nurses.
• Support postgraduate, graduate, and newly appointed nurses within the department.
• Contribute to policy, procedure, protocol, and guideline (PPPG) development.
• Organise and deliver educational events and audits to maintain best practice standards.
• Promote evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with the Nurse Practice Development Unit (NPDU) and wider multidisciplinary team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration in the General Division of the NMBI Register.
• Significant experience in critical care nursing.
• Demonstrated ability to support and mentor staff.
• Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional education and improvement.
• Experience in facilitating clinical education and audit preferred.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Clinical Nurse Manager II (Code 2119).
• HSE consolidated pay scale (effective 1 August 2025): €61,463 – €77,666 per annum, inclusive of LSIs.
• Full-time, permanent contract with access to public sector pension and benefits.
• Standard HSE working week and leave entitlements as per national agreements.
