The Health Service Executive (HSE) is inviting applications for the post of Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist within Cork Mental Health Services (South Lee). This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality mental health care within the HSE South West region. The role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants under reference PSYCH2525.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adult mental health patients.
• Deliver clinical leadership and multidisciplinary team coordination within South Lee Mental Health Services.
• Participate in on-call rota, service planning, and clinical governance.
• Engage in teaching, supervision, and training of medical staff and trainees.
• Collaborate closely with the Clinical Director and colleagues to maintain high service standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration on the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of Psychiatry.
• Extensive experience in General Adult Psychiatry.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Commitment to patient-centred care and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
As per Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 August 2025, Consultant (Medical & Dental, Grade 143Y) salaries range approximately from €222,215 to €266,698 per annum depending on experience and service length.
