The Health Service Executive (HSE) invites applications for the position of Senior Occupational Therapist within the Specialist Seating and Wheelchair Service in Donegal. This is a permanent wholetime post based in the HSE West and North West region, providing essential specialist support to service users requiring complex postural and mobility assessments.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide expert occupational therapy assessment and intervention for clients requiring specialist seating and wheelchair solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate postural support and mobility outcomes.
• Manage a complex caseload, prioritising client needs and ensuring timely service delivery.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement within the specialist area.
• Supervise and support junior staff, students, and therapy assistants as required.
• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in line with HSE policy.
• Participate in audit, research, and continuing professional development relevant to the specialist service.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Hold a recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and be eligible for CORU registration.
• Minimum three years post-qualification experience, with at least one year in a relevant clinical area.
• Demonstrated experience in seating, posture management, or assistive technology preferred.
• Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Full clean driving licence and access to own transport desirable.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is in accordance with the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025) for Occupational Therapist, Senior (Grade Code 3301):
€63,738 – €74,344 per annum (including recent 1% national increase).
Permanent wholetime position with standard HSE benefits including pension, annual leave, and professional development supports.
