About the Role
The Minister for Transport invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Chairperson to the Board of Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
Requirements
Essential
- Senior leadership experience in the public or private sector.
- Understanding of the public sector environment and corporate governance in the public sector
- Experience with large infrastructure, preferably Road or Rail infrastructure,
- Evidence of leading and implementing significant change in a large, complex environment.
- Commitment to public service values
- Previous experience of chairing a Board or a Board Committee
The candidate should also have significate experience at the appropriately senior level in relation to at least one of the following:
- transport, industrial, commercial, financial or environmental matters,
- local government,
- the organisation of workers or administration.

- The public transport sector
- Environmental issues
- Archaeology
- Professional experience in audit and risk
- Corporate governance
- Local authority
- The work of an audit and risk committee
- Data protection/GDPR
- Experience of interacting with Ministers
