About the Role
The Assistant Chief Quantity Surveyor provides advice to the City Council on all quantity surveying matters in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive quantity surveying service. Reporting to the Chief Quantity Surveyor, the Assistant Chief Quantity Surveyor is also required to work effectively with other City Council Departments and external agencies to produce collaborative, cost effective and timely solutions to organisational challenges. The Assistant Chief Quantity Surveyor will proactively manage staff within the Division and will be involved in various capacities with Government Departments, Approved Housing Bodies, and other local authorities.

Main Duties of the Job
- Providing advice to Chief Quantity Surveyor and Senior Management on quantity surveying and related matters.
- Possess a high level of technical /subject matter knowledge, skills and experience in commercial management /quantity surveying on matters such as Estimation, Financial and Cost Management, Contractual and Legal Knowledge, Technical Construction Expertise, Digital and Analytical Skills, Project Management and Communication, and Dispute Management.
- Providing management and leadership in the implementation of departmental and corporate work programmes.
- Working effectively with other City Council Departments and external agencies to produce collaborative, cost effective and timely solutions to organisational challenges.
Benefits
Salary Scale effective from 1st June 2026: €93,698 - €95,995 - €98,283 - €100,582 - €102,874 - €105,177 - €108,641 (LSI1) - €112,107 (LSI2)
Hours of attendance will be fixed from time to time but will amount to not less than 35 hours gross per week.
The annual leave allowance for the position of Assistant Chief Quantity Surveyor is 30 days.
