About the Role
The National Gallery of Ireland seeks an Assistant Collection Registrar to support the Collections team in managing the Gallery’s busy loans programme, assisting with administration, and ensuring robust processes are in operation. The role involves coordinating and documenting loans, managing long-term loans, ensuring logistics and risk assessments, and maintaining up-to-date records on the Gallery’s Collection Management System (TMS).
Requirements
A relevant third-level qualification (e.g., Museum Studies, Arts Administration, Art History, Archival Studies, or a related field) and at least two years’ experience in a similar role within a museum or cultural institution are required. Experience in the international loans process, using a recognised Collections Management System, and collection registration is essential. Strong organisational and administrative skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a proactive attitude are also necessary. The role requires flexibility to work beyond normal hours and the ability to travel. Candidates must be fluent in English and eligible to work in Ireland. Eligible candidates must be citizens of the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or non-EEA citizens with Stamp 4 or Stamp 5 permission.
