About the Role

The HSE is seeking to appoint an Assistant National Director of Estates, Infrastructure, Facility & Emergency Preparedness to join HSE Strategic Infrastructure. This is a senior national leadership role open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants, with one permanent, whole-time vacancy currently available. A panel may also be formed for future permanent and specified-purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration.

Role Overview

Reporting within the office of the National Director, Strategic Health Infrastructure and Capital Delivery, this role carries national responsibility for estates, infrastructure, facilities management, and emergency preparedness functions across the HSE estate. The National Director, Strategic Health Infrastructure has indicated openness to discussing on-site attendance expectations in the context of the HSE's Blended Working Policy.

Salary & Benefits

HSE consolidated pay scale for grade 0508 (Assistant National Director – Support), effective 1 June 2026 per DoH Circular 2/2026:

  • €123,645 – €128,870 – €134,190 – €139,614 – €145,131 – €150,752

This is a straight six-point scale with no Long Service Increments (LSIs) attached to this grade. Part-time appointments arising from this panel will be remunerated on a pro-rata basis.
