About the Role
University Hospital Waterford is inviting applications for the position of Candidate Advanced Practice Physiotherapist (MSK). This permanent whole-time opportunity offers experienced physiotherapists the chance to advance their clinical expertise within a specialist musculoskeletal (MSK) service while contributing to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care in one of the region’s leading acute hospitals.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will work within the Physiotherapy Department, developing advanced assessment, clinical decision-making and treatment skills in musculoskeletal practice. The role supports the continued development of advanced practice services, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to improve patient outcomes and service efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced musculoskeletal physiotherapy assessment and treatment.
- Manage complex patient presentations using evidence-based practice.
- Work closely with consultants, GPs and multidisciplinary teams.
- Support service improvement initiatives and quality assurance.
- Participate in clinical audit, education and professional development.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with HSE standards.
Requirements
- Meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the official HSE Job Specification.
- Be eligible for registration with CORU as a Physiotherapist.
- Demonstrate substantial postgraduate experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
- Possess the clinical knowledge and competencies required for progression towards Advanced Practice.
