About the Role

The Mater Misericordiae University Hospital is the national centre for cardiothoracic surgery and heart and lung transplantation. We are looking to recruit a Registrar who will work as part of a large team of NCHD’s and consultant Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeons.

This is an excellent opportunity for a cardiothoracic surgeon in training who would like to broaden their exposure. The role will include; participating / leading the daily team ward & ICU round, progressing patient care, admitting and consenting patient for surgery, reviewing patients in the outpatient clinic and operating room duties. Candidates should have excellent communication and teamwork skills as well as an interest in improving their knowledge base.

Requirements

All applicants should have; a medical degree and full Irish medical council registration. MRCS would be preferable.
