About the Role
Avista is a person-centred, rights-based organisation dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities. We provide a wide range of services including Day, Residential and Respite supports to both children and adults in various locations across Dublin, Limerick and North Tipperary.
We are looking for candidates who are committed to supporting people with Intellectual Disabilities and their families, in a person-centred, community-based, socially inclusive manner in accordance with our core values and ethos and underpinned by quality, best practice and research.
Avista is looking for a Care Assistant to work at St. Joseph’s Centre – Day Service, Clonsilla, Dublin. This is a permanent, part-time (35 hours per week) contract.
Requirements
Essential:
- Minimum of Fully Completed FETAC/QQI level 5 in Healthcare qualification or (higher) equivalent comparable qualification.
- Full clean manual Irish driving licence. Requirement to drive service vehicles.
- Proficiency in the English language.
- Desire to support people to live their best lives and commitment to promoting the active engagement and participation in their local communities.
Desirable:
- Experience working within the area of intellectual disability.
- Knowledge of New Directions
- Level 1 behavioural competencies of Avista competency framework.

Location: Clonsilla, Dublin
Contract: Permanent, Part-time (35 hours per week)
Salary: €34,881 - €48,434* (LSI) (subject to Relevant Public Sector Experience and pro-rated for hours of work)
