Care Support Worker - Relief in Dundalk

About the Role

Cheshire Ireland is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Care Support Worker to join our team in Dundalk, Co. Louth. The role involves supporting adults with physical, sensory, and neurological disabilities to meet their physical, psychological, and social care needs in a person-centred environment.

You will:

• Support people with all aspects of their daily lives as per their individual needs and personal plans;
• Establish and maintain relationships based on respect, equality, and the promotion of rights and independence;
• Work across a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week roster, including all shifts;
• Embrace change and foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning;
• Commit to the principles of rights-based, person-centred services.

Cheshire Ireland provides quality services to adults with disabilities at a medium and high level of need, offering a friendly and positive working environment in residential and community settings.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Hold or be working towards a QQI Level 5 Healthcare Award or QQI Level 6 Social Care or a Nursing qualification;
• Have experience in supporting people with disabilities;
• Hold or be working towards a Full Manual Driving Licence and willingness to drive for work;
• Eligibility to work in Ireland is essential;
• Good standard of verbal and written English;
• Computer literate (experience with online care management systems an advantage);
• Personal integrity, trustworthiness, and a positive attitude;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Desire for personal and professional development.

Candidates who have experience but no qualifications may be hired if they are willing to undertake and complete QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support within 18 months of commencement.

• Vetting: All successful candidates will be subject to vetting by the Garda National Vetting Bureau and must provide security clearance for each jurisdiction in which they have resided outside the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland for 6 months or more from the date of their 16th birthday.
