St. Michael’s House provides a comprehensive range of services and supports to men, women, and children with disabilities and their families in 170 locations in the greater Dublin Area. It supports 1,953 people and this has an impact on thousands of family members. St. Michael’s House is a company funded by the Health Service Executive (HSE), TUSLA and the Department of Education and Skills. (Figures from 1st May 2021).
St. Michael’s House supports include; Residential supports and Independent living, Clinical supports, Day supports, Schools, Respite supports and Vocational training services.
A vacancy exists for a full-time Specific Purpose Contract Clinical Nurse Manager 2 in 10a Middlethird. This role requires a strong ability to lead a team, to problem solve, and to work on one’s own initiative.
Person in Charge (PIC) Responsibilities: The successful candidate will also undertake Person in Charge (PIC) duties as outlined under the Health Act 2007 and relevant HIQA regulations, ensuring effective governance, oversight, and operational management of the designated centre. The CNM2 will be responsible for: Leading the implementation and maintenance of high-quality care standards in line with HIQA regulations, Ensuring robust risk management, incident reporting, and safeguarding procedures, Supporting staff development, compliance monitoring, and continuous quality improvement, Driving person-centred planning, promoting autonomy and social inclusion for all residents.
Requirements
Skills and attributes: Have good knowledge of HIQA regulations, Hold a recognised accredited management qualification, Hold an RNID qualification and be currently registered and approved by NMBI.
Essential Criteria: Hold an RNID qualification and be currently registered and approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). Applicants from other nursing disciplines with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the field of intellectual disability may also apply, Hold a recognised accredited management qualification, Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role within health or social care, with responsibility for managing budgets and resources, Demonstrate experience in staff support, leading teams, resource management, and performing administrative duties, Be knowledgeable of the Health Act 2007 and have experience and understanding of HIQA Regulations (2013), Have experience managing individuals with diabetes, cardiac, GI, and neurological health needs, Possess a working knowledge of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at Risk of Abuse Policy, Be committed to delivering a quality, individualised, person-centred service, Demonstrate strong teamwork and leadership skills, Have experience in key working.
