About the Role
Avista is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Epilepsy) for the Dublin region. This permanent part-time role (25 hours per week) involves leading the Epilepsy Clinic, providing specialist nursing input to individuals with Epilepsy, and working with the outreach ANP and multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth transitions from children to adult services.
Requirements
Essential:
- Registration with the Intellectual Disability Division of the Register of Nurses held by NMBI.
- Maintained annual registration with the NMBI.
- Minimum of five years’ post-registration experience, including two years in the specialist area of Epilepsy and Intellectual Disability.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and effective caseload management skills.
- Full driving license with access to own transport.
- Ability to practice safely and effectively within the scope of practice.
- Level 9 or equivalent post-registration qualification relevant to the specialist area (Epilepsy).
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Competency in the Microsoft suite.
- Knowledge of The Health Act 2007 and HIQA regulations.
Desirable (non-essential):
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
- Knowledge of Shaping the future of intellectual Disability Nursing in Ireland (2018) and Sláintecare (2018).
