About the Role

The post of CNS has a pivotal role in service planning, co-ordinating, and managing activity and resources within Neuro oncology. The post holder will hold lead nursing responsibility for the care of children with neuro-oncology conditions, working as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team. In collaboration with the Neurosurgical and Neuro-oncology teams, the post holder will ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care. They will provide strong nursing leadership, specialist expertise, professional advice, and support to optimise the management and care of this patient group.

Requirements

Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development at the appropriate level. Registered in the Children’s Division of the active register of the NMBI. Registered or eligible to register as a CNS in Neuro oncology. 1 years post registration experience in Neurosurgical or Oncology. Be registered in the Children’s division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann). Be registered or eligible to register as a CNS in Neuro oncology on the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann). Have at least 1 years post registration experience in Neurosurgical or Oncology Nursing. Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of Continuing Professional Development.

Location: Dublin, Ireland. Full time, Permanent. Salary: €62,699–€79,227 per year. Closing date: 15 Oct 2026.
