About the Role
Avista is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Positive Behaviour Support for the Limerick region. This permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week) involves providing specialist nursing input to individuals with complex needs, working alongside an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and other Clinical Nurse Specialists in Positive Behaviour Support.
Requirements
Essential:
- Registration with the Intellectual Disability Division of the Register of Nurses held by NMBI
- Maintained annual registration with the NMBI
- Minimum of five years’ post-registration experience, including two in Positive Behaviour Support and Intellectual Disability
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and effective caseload management skills
- Ability to practice safely and effectively within the scope of practice
- Completed a level 9 post-registration QQI national qualification relevant to the specialist area or be prepared to undertake the required postgraduate education
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Competency in the Microsoft suite
- Knowledge of The Health Act 2007 and HIQA regulations
- Full clean manual Irish driving licence with access to own transport
- Proficiency in the English language
Desirable:
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
- Knowledge of Shaping the future of intellectual Disability Nursing in Ireland (2018) and Sláinte Care (2018)
- Level 2 behavioural competencies of Avista competency framework
