Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) is leading on the clinical and operational transformation of acute paediatric healthcare and consists of hospitals at Crumlin, Temple Street and Tallaght as well as an Urgent Care Centre at Connolly hospital in Blanchardstown.
Purpose of the Role:
- Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of an evidenced based, person centred, quality Nutrition and Dietetics service to the Haematology Oncology service in CHI.
- Provide nutrition and dietetic support and education to the children and young adults who access the Haematology Oncology service.
- Work in conjunction with other team members within the Nutrition and Dietetics Department and the Haematology Oncology service in co-ordinating and developing the service to meet the needs of the population it serves in line with the objectives of the organisation / best practice recommendations.
- Act as a resource and provide expert opinion, advice and guidance to nutrition and dietetics colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide leadership to the team of Dietitians working in Haematology Oncology in CHI.
- Carry out additional clinical, educational, and administrative duties as required.
Requirements
Skills and attributes
- Be registered as a Dietitian by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU.
- 5 years post qualification dietetic experience
- Proven record of clinical excellence in paediatric Haematology Oncology
Essential Criteria:
- Applicants must be registered as a Dietitian by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU
- Have 5 years’ full time (or an aggregate of five years) post qualification dietetic experience of which 4 years full time (or an aggregate of four years) must be consecutive in paediatric Haematology Oncology
- Demonstrate a proven record of clinical excellence in paediatric Haematology Oncology.
- Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development relevant to paediatric dietetics/Haematology Oncology.
- Demonstrate experience in the areas of clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, practice development, teaching and research.
- Applicants must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability, management, leadership and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
