About the Role
Corlann is the new name for Brothers of Charity Services Ireland. Corlann provides services to more than 6,000 people each year who have an intellectual disability, including those who also have autism.
We are hiring Community Access Facilitators in Nova Services, Waterford. Corlann are looking for bright, ambitious individuals who have a positive attitude towards working with people with an intellectual disability and who are committed to ensuring that our persons supported lead as fulfilling and enjoyable a life as possible.
Role: Permanent Part time Community Access Facilitator (Supervisor/instructor Grade)
Contracts Available: Permanent Part-Time 70/78, Permanent Part time 60/78
Location: Nova Services, Waterford
Panels will be formed as a result of the interview process. Candidates who are placed on a panel will be considered for subsequent permanent part time, fixed term and Specified Purpose vacancies for a period of up to six months.
The Community Access Facilitator works with Day Services wider team and management as well as members of the multi-disciplinary team. They will also build and maintain working relationships with relevant community organisations, educational providers and local employers. In this role you will take a lead role in supporting people within the framework of New Directions. You will work collaboratively with the person supported, their nominated circle of support to co-produce person-centred plans with ambition and possibility. You will support the person to access mainstream opportunities (education, work, civic life) on the same basis as others, and to challenge structural barriers where they arise. You will promote advocacy and self-direction, ensuring the person’s voice is central to all planning and decision-making by supporting adults with a disability to speak up for themselves and make their own choices, making sure their views guide all planning and decisions.
Requirements
Qualification required:
- Possess a Qualification in General Health and Social Care or Community and/or Youth Work, as outlined in the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) formerly FETAC on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) of not less than QQI Level 5 (Major Award)
- Or
- Possess a relevant Health Care qualification at not less than QQI level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)
- Or
- An equivalent Health Care qualification from another jurisdiction.
