About the Role
University Hospital Limerick is seeking applications for the position of Director of Nursing 1 Assistant to join the Surgical HUB within HSE Mid West Acute Services. This permanent whole-time leadership opportunity offers experienced nursing professionals the chance to contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality surgical services while supporting clinical excellence, patient-centred care, and operational performance in one of Ireland’s busiest acute hospitals.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will provide professional nursing leadership within the Surgical HUB, supporting the planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of patient services. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the Director of Nursing 1 Assistant will help ensure that clinical governance, quality standards, workforce development, and patient safety remain central to service delivery across University Hospital Limerick.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing leadership and operational support within the Surgical HUB.
- Promote excellence in patient care, quality improvement, and clinical governance.
