About the Role

Corlann is the new name for Brothers of Charity Services Ireland. Corlann provides services to more than 6,000 people each year who have an intellectual disability, including those who also have autism. Funded under Section 38 of the Health Act, we remain deeply committed to a person-centred approach—one that honours each individual’s strengths, aspirations, and rights. Our aim is always to provide, as far as possible, personalised supports that empower people to identify and achieve their own life goals, and to live as valued, equal, and active citizens in their communities.

Clarin Services provides a combination of day and community based services to adults with varying support needs, based on personal outcome measures. Our services are all in small community houses, where we aim to create opportunities for the people we support to be valued citizens in their communities and to have everyday life experiences. Our focus is to form a partnership with the people we support and their families to ensure each individual live their best life.

We wish to recruit innovative, creative, visionary person who will relish the opportunity to assist in achieving this vision. Candidates need to be flexible and adapt to the needs of particular individual’s they support on a daily basis.

Requirements

Candidates must have received a good general education. A certificate in Food Hygiene /HACCP for Food Handlers training is an advantage. Alternatively, a commitment to completing a Food Hygiene /HACCP for Food Handlers training course is required. Candidates must have adequate training and experience to enable him/her to carry out satisfactorily the duties of the post together with an appreciation of the needs of persons with an intellectual disability. Candidates must be able to demonstrate domestic, household and food preparation and cooking skills.

Salary: €35,433–€41,696 per year

Reports to: Team Leader/ Service Coordinator

Working Hours: 60 hours per fortnight based on a 7 day duty roster. The normal working hours will be Monday – Friday but may involve weekend or evening work if required to meet service needs. Corlann model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.

Annual Leave: 22 days per annum, i.e. 8.46 hours per 100 hours worked.

Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to this post.
