About the Role
Corlann, the new name for Brothers of Charity Services Ireland, provides services to over 6,000 people annually with intellectual disabilities. The Driver/Porter role is based in Bruach na Mara Services, South Connemara, Galway. The role involves driving and portering duties, with a focus on supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to achieve a full and valued life in their community. The post is permanent, part-time, and pensionable, with a probationary period of nine months.
Requirements
A full clean Driving Licence (Class D1) and CPC examinations are essential. Relevant minibus driving experience is required, with experience of working with persons with an intellectual disability and general maintenance provision being advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organisational and planning skills, effective communication, creativity, initiative, and a commitment to best practice. The ability to exercise good judgement, discretion, and confidentiality is essential. Staff will be expected to network with local community groups and develop positive links for the individuals who use the service. Willingness to learn the Irish language is a requirement of this post.

The role is based in Bruach na Mara Services, South Connemara, Galway. The working hours are 26.5 hours a fortnight based on a 5 day duty roster. Annual leave is 22 days pro rata per annum.
