Electronic Health Record (EHR) Senior Application Analyst (Grade VI) in Dublin

About the Role

This is an exciting time to join the new Electronic Health Record (EHR) team as an Application Support Analyst (Grade IV). This role will be varied, fast-paced and you’ll be part of a team dedicated to implementing the EHR for the new CHI hospital.

CHI will work with Epic Systems, a software company who are a world leader in this technology, to implement an electronic health record (EHR) system across the organisation, which will go live at the same time as the new hospital opens – as Ireland’s first fully digitalised hospital.

The Digital Health programme for the New Children’s Hospital Ireland, including outpatient and urgent care centres, comprises of several work streams including:

• EHR & Clinical ICT Systems: Deploying the Epic Electronic Healthcare Record (EHR) and supporting systems
• Corporate & Non-Clinical ICT: Implementation of a Facilities Management and Catering System, plus supporting Financial, Human Resources and Facilities Management Systems upgrades / integration / implementation
• Infrastructure: Deployment of technology, including end user devices, to support the above work streams in addition to technology solutions which enhance workflow or the patient experience
• Programme Support & Business Engagement: Managing an integrated ICT & EHR programme plan and designing and delivering organisational readiness activities including change, training and benefits management

The Senior EHR Application Analyst (Grade VI) is a core member of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) team.

The post-holder is responsible for design and configuration of the assigned EHR module(s) and will also support testing, training, and organisational readiness activities during the implementation phase to HIMSS level 6. They will assist in the development of plans for go-live and subsequently support post go-live stabilisation and optimisation phases.

As part of this role the Senior EHR Application Analyst will attend accredited EHR vendor training and receive certification in system configuration.

The post holder will work alongside the wider EHR programme team to meet the needs of the operational, administrative, and clinical deliverables of the CHI EHR.

This position would suit candidates from the following areas (experienced with skills or recent graduates):

• Digital Health and eHealth background
• Clinical Professions - HSCP disciplines, Nursing, Pharmacy or Medicine (NCHD)
• Healthcare Operational or Administration

Requirements

Essential Criteria:

• Relevant third level degree/post-graduate qualification plus at least 2 years of experience in a relevant role, ideally in acute healthcare setting, an EHR implementation project or digital health project
• Or 4+ years’ experience in a relevant/similar role, ideally in acute paediatric healthcare, EHR implementation or digital health project in healthcare setting

Desirable Criteria:

• Epic system certification as an application analyst or clinician builder
• Prior use of Epic as an end-user in acute healthcare setting
• Healthcare experience in acute care or similar paediatric setting.
• Experience with large scale digital healthcare projects
• Competent in using Microsoft Office products
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

Location of post: This is a cross-site role, with the EHR programme offices based at CHI Herberton, St James’s Walk, Rialto, D08 HP97. There is requirement to spend time working with the clinical and operational teams across all Children’s Health Ireland sites, including at site of the new children’s hospital.

Reporting arrangements: The Senior EHR Application Analyst (Grade VI) reports directly to the EHR Senior Project Manager (VIII) and will be accountable to the EHR Programme Manager.

Key Working Relationships: The Senior EHR Application Analyst (Grade VI) will work closely with the members of the EHR Programme Team, Digital Health teams and members of multiple workstreams across CHI Commissioning Programme. They will also work with CHI stakeholders at Crumlin, Temple Street, and Tallaght, with external stakeholders and vendors.

The EHR Programme will use an aptitude test as a screening tool. This screening tool will support candidates who may have the appropriate skillsets for any EHR role and will form part of the evaluation before being asked to interview. This is an independent screening tool for the EHR Programme only and is not part of the overall CHI recruitment and selection policy. This is a two-hour assessment for the candidate to complete, once they have been identified by CHI as meeting the essential and desirable criteria detailed on the job description. This is an online proctored assessment meaning we ask the candidate to complete this within a timeframe prior to interview.
