Temporary for 1 year, €238,221 - 286,151 per year, 37 hours per week

Portiuncula University Hospital is a Model 3 hospital providing 24/7 acute surgery, acute medicine and critical care along with Emergency Department and maternity services to adults and children in the catchment areas of East Galway, Westmeath, North Tipperary, Roscommon and Offaly. The hospital has natural referral pathways to the Midlands, particularly in respect of patients that are referred in via the Emergency Department and discharged back for appropriate care i.e. orthopaedics, elderly care services etc. In addition, the hospital’s paediatric service has linkages with Crumlin Children’s Hospital for shared care arrangement in relation to oncology.

The person appointed will be required to participate in the General Medicine 1:8 on-call rota at Portiuncula University Hospital. This post will support inpatient, outpatient, emergency department care, intensive care, outreach services, ward rounds, education and training to NCHD’s. A wide range of other diagnostic facilities are available onsite including Radiology CT and MRI.

Fluent English

Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners is essential
