About the Role

The HSE Technology & Transformation division is recruiting a Grade VI Solution Tester to support the Community Care Record Programme. This permanent whole-time opportunity offers experienced healthcare and ICT professionals the chance to contribute to the delivery of nationally significant digital health solutions that improve patient care and clinical services across Ireland.

Role Overview

Working as part of the Community Care Record Programme, the successful candidate will participate in testing healthcare technology solutions before implementation into live clinical environments. The role involves planning and executing structured testing activities, documenting outcomes, identifying defects, supporting project delivery, and collaborating with multidisciplinary stakeholders to ensure systems meet operational and clinical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute and maintain user acceptance and end-user test scripts.
  • Record testing results accurately and report software defects clearly.
  • Support healthcare system implementations and service improvement programmes.
  • Work with clinical and operational teams throughout testing activities.
  • Contribute to project planning, RAID logs, RACI matrices and project reporting.
  • Ensure testing activities follow structured governance and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with trainers, service staff and technical teams during deployments.
  • Support successful delivery of Community Care Record Programme objectives.

Requirements

  • Experience participating in user acceptance or end-user testing of healthcare system implementations or health service change programmes.
  • Experience developing and executing test scripts while recording results and reporting defects.
  • Proven ability to work with clinical or operational systems in live healthcare environments.
  • Experience using project management tools including RAID logs, RACI matrices and project reporting.
  • Clinical experience or experience working within multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to take responsibility and accountability for delivering agreed objectives.

Details

This is a national role within HSE Technology & Transformation. The successful candidate will be based at one of the organisation's Digital Hub locations, including Dublin (Dr. Steevens' Hospital), Kells, Sligo, Manorhamilton, Cork, Kilkenny, Galway, Limerick, Tullamore, Drogheda, Tralee, Ardee or Clonmel. Technology & Transformation works closely with all six Health Regions, and some posts may be aligned to a regional service.

Salary & Benefits

€58,477 – €69,056 per annum (HSE Grade VI, Grade Code 0574, 7-point salary scale, plus Long Service Increments where applicable), based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.
